Stanhopea Ronsard photo from E.F.G. Orchids This hybrid was registered with the RHS in 1989 by Marcel Lecoufle (France). It is also suspected to occur in nature as a natural hybrid.

Flowers are yellow with maroon spots; generally blooms in summer (July-August in Houston).

Basket culture is recommended, as with most stanhopeas, due to the pendant inflorescences. Intermediate conditions.

Six intensely fragrant flowers on one inflorescense; sepals and petals gold, becoming orange-gold basally, spotted maroon; lip pale gold, becoming orange-gold basally, with three large maroon spots proximally and fine maroon spots apically; column apple-green, covered with translucent, cream-colored wings; substance heavy; texture matte, lip waxy. Natural spread 10.5cm, 10.0cm vertically; ds 3.0cm w, 6.0cm l; pet 1.5cm w, 4.0cm l; ls 4.0cm w, 6.3cm l; lip 2.8cm w, 6.4cm l.
